This role is to work with clients to discover what issues they have and then match the demonstration to fit their needs.

Often this job role is called Pre Sales Consultant or Sales Engineer.

Your role is to understand the software and what it can do and then show the client what benefits and functionality it can offer to help them.

Or not! A large part of the job is establishing which clients are a good fit and which clients will need a mountain of bespoke work that will both expensive and time consuming…and reject them.

So you will need to have a really strong software consulting background working with SME's you will be able to talk to:

  • Finance people about accounting
  • Distribution people about warehousing, and stock
  • Manufacturing people about production and waste.
  • Ecommerce people about integration and 3PL logistics.

You don't need to be an expert, but you do need to be able to ask questions about how the clients' processes work. So you can match the software to the need.

During the first 2 months you will learn the solution and what it can offer from a functional perspective, you will then make some standard demonstrations, that can be reused (by you). So you will (within 6 months) have some good solid standard demonstrations of the core bits of the solution.

What is this a great job?

Every client is different and you get to figure out how different they are.

You will be building relationships with clients trying to understand their needs and issues, you will be their trusted adviser.

You will have good open relationships with internal staff.

This is a lynchpin role that is absolutely critical to the success of the company.

Your background will include ERP consulting, business analysis, Systems analysis, and Implementation.

Your role is to advise the sales team on which clients are viable and which are not.

Your role is also to show the clients the core functionality of the solution so that they can understand the benefit.

You will work with:

  • The sales team
  • The marketing team
  • The consulting team

If you can commute to Ipswich 3 days each week , please apply to this job and I will give me a call to talk through your experience
