New opportunity for a motivated Finance / Accounting Software Implementation Consultant to work on Epicor projects in a demanding but very rewarding role that will see you learn all the complexities of the finance functions of Epicor ERP. Base salary to £50k, plus car allowance and annual bonus. Remote working from home, with UK travel as and when required.
Epicor is very strong as an ERP solution especially in the manufacturing and made to order markets. It is also very strong as a finance solution and covers multi-company, multi-currency consolidation. It's budgeting and forecasting areas are superb and offer both top down and bottom up budgeting and it is an excellent ERP tool for creating custom reports. This software company do very well with industries such as medical devices, circuit board manufacturers, and cab builders, cladding manufacturing companies, granite work top companies and so forth. The Epicor ERP solution is aimed at organisations in the middle market, typically £5m to £500m turnover.
Epicor Kinetic is a combination of the functionality of the ERP solutions Epicor have acquired over 20 years and integrated together which include Epicor iScala, Scala, Epicor Enterprise, Epicor Vantage and Epicor Platinum. The new Epicor kinetci the financials from Scala which include the bookkeeping concepts and the Dynamics segments. This means your projects are going to be interesting, with complex businesses, interesting financial arrangements, and often a combination of manufacturing and distribution.
This new role is for a strong Finance / Accounting Implementation Consultant, so experience with any mid-market accounting or ERP product would be fine for them. Experience of any of the older versions of Epicor would also be very interesting and would make it easy for you to move onto the new version
So you need previous consultancy experience implementing accounting and ERP solutions and focusing on the finance areas. You will be able to talk to FD's about all aspects of finance and how their accounting should be set up; you will be familiar with multi-company and multi-currency accounts and you are confident in your skills. You are likely to have an accounting qualification, either qualified, part qualified, QBE or AAT, A, FCCA etc.
A track record as an Implementation Consultant on similar products such as Dynamics NAV, Sage X3, PS Financials, SAP Business One or SAP Business ByDesign, SunSystems, Dynamics AX, Exchequer, Open Accounts, Coda Dream, UNIT 4 Agresso Business World, Greentree, Infor, Access Dimensions, Sage 200 etc. etc. is essential. Excellent functional experience, business analysis, communication, presentation, time management and inter-personal skills are required, and you can handle the full software implementation lifecycle from requirements, through to end training and hand holding.
You know your accountancy rules and regulations, you have a good understanding of management / financial accounts and reporting including job costing & project accounting, COA design, base financial ledgers, multi-currency, and consolidations, and you understand the range of software & hardware tools required to deliver a good solution. Extra knowledge in the areas of distribution, project accounting, manufacturing accounts, CRM, or e-Modules would be a bonus.
There is a huge demand for Epicor skills in the UK and globally. Experienced Epicor Consultants are paid up to £75k basic in the Epicor space, so as far as your career and your future go, this is a great product to learn. This thriving mid-sized software company is run by a couple of great guys who know what they are doing and run the business sensibly. They don't hire and fire, people like working there it is a stable solid place to work. Project management is strong here and provides significant support to the consulting & implementation team, and the implementation methods they use and well tried & tested with clear project objectives and project plans.
Location wise, this is home based, so Chesterfield isn't relevant at all, but ideally you live somewhere from the south of Manchester or south of Hull, through the Midlands area, to Bristol in the West Country, the M4 corridor, London & the home counties and surrounding areas. Since last year, more and more work is being done remotely than ever before. This has created a huge cost saving in hotel and travel expenses and a huge saving in the time that ERP Consultants spend on the road, and furthermore clients have found it a more productive way to work too. So it is likely that the bulk of your implementation and consulting role will be remote, but there will still be a need to travel to your clients when appropriate.
